Anchor passes ANSI qualifications when installed in a strut that is embedded into concrete. In this installation configuration, the anchor is now an ANSI Z359.18-2017 certified anchor with a
Minimum Breaking Strength of 5,000 lbs. (22 kN). However, if the Strut Anchor is installed in any other application other than a strut embedded into concrete, the anchor has a Minimum Breaking Strength of 3,600 lbs. (16 kN) and must adhere to OSHA’s 2:1 safety factor. The update to the labels and manuals of the anchor to include the ANSI standard does not change the install steps, use, or maintenance of the product. Products already in the field will not reference the additional ANSI Z359.18-2017 standard on labels or in manuals. Future labels and manuals will be updated. The most up-to-date manual will always be available on the Safewaze website. The user should verify the latest revision of the product’s manual is being utilized for proper use directions and installation information.
