The Safewaze Scaffold Davit Anchor is designed to be used as part of a Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS). Current manuals and labels in the field may state the following warning: “Do not install fall protection to the Captive Eye located in the middle of the Scaffold Davit Arm.”
However, recent testing has determined that both Captive Eyes located on the Scaffold Davit Anchor are suitable anchor points for a PFAS. Please disregard all labels and manuals with the aforementioned warning. The product manual has been updated and a running change is being made to all future orders.
Only one Captive Eye should be used at a time. DO NOT connect fall protection to both Captive Eyes at the same time. Regardless of which Captive Eye is used, a Competent Person must determine the overall system is capable of withstanding anticipated fall loads and meets, or exceeds, OSHA required anchorage strength regulations.
The manufacturer’s instructions should always be read, understood, and followed for all components and subsystems in the Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS).
