ANSI and OSHA acknowledge the Declaration of Conformity (DOC) as the official mechanism through which a manufacturer certifies that its products comply with the specified regulations. There is no legal obligation under OSHA or ANSI standards to provide official test reports.
All Declarations of Conformity from Safewaze comply with the requirements established in ANSI/ASSP Z359.7-2019. They are issued and signed by our Testing Director and are publicly available at www.safewaze.com along with product manuals, product labels and Technical Data Sheets (TDS). The DOC, manual, label and TDS provide all the information necessary for proper installation and use of equipment in a fall protection system.
ANSI/ASSP Z359.7-2019 states, “There is a difference between testing of product and certifying of product. Testing of the product is only one part of the certification process. A product has several requirements that are not verified by testing.” There is no single test report that shows a product fully meets the standard it is marked to.
Test reports may also contain proprietary information subject to confidentiality agreements between Safewaze, the testing laboratories involved and other parties.
There may be cases where extenuating circumstances lead to some official test reports being provided, and those situations must be evaluated and approved by Safewaze management.
