Safewaze equipment is designed for, and tested with, associated Safewaze components or systems. However, screw and wedge-style fasteners manufactured by other companies can be compatible with Safewaze Concrete Anchors. The use of alternative fasteners is permissible with Safewaze Concrete Anchors in the case of certified engineered systems, provided the user follows the Safewaze product manual and the following guidelines:
- The manufacturer’s instructions and specifications of the chosen alternative fastener are read, understood, and followed.
- The alternative fastener is of the same diameter and grade.
- The required minimum embedment depth (according to the alternative fastener’s specifications) can be achieved with the dimensions of the Safewaze anchor to meet the strength requirement of the anchor (according to the anchor’s specifications).
- The alternative fastener is intended for concrete installation.
- A Competent Person has determined the alternative fastener is capable of supporting intended loads on the anchor assembly.
